Privacy policy

The short version

GOODGAME BOLT asks you for nothing in order to be read. The only data that moves comes from audience measurement and advertising — and nothing is stored until you have agreed.

The site is published by an individual and read on both sides of the Atlantic. Depending on where you read from, US law or the GDPR applies: both are covered below.

What is collected

• Audience measurement — page views, time on page, referrer, in aggregate.
• Advertising — identifiers and cookies, only after you agree.
• Technical data — device, browser, truncated IP address.
• What you give us — your email address if you sign up to the newsletter.

Nothing else. No account, no profile, no list sold on.

If you read from the United States

California (CCPA/CPRA) — you can find out which categories of data are collected, ask for them to be deleted, and opt out of their “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising. The Cookie preferences link in the footer is enough, or write to us. We do not discriminate against you for exercising that right.

Children (COPPA) — GOODGAME BOLT is not directed to children and is not a child-directed service. The site does not seek to collect data about anyone under 13; if that happened, tell us and it will be deleted.

If you read from Europe (GDPR)

Your consent is the basis for everything that is not strictly necessary — measurement, advertising, personalisation (article 6(1)(a)). Legitimate interest covers security and the basic operation of the site (article 6(1)(f)).

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability, and you can withdraw your agreement at any time. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can refer the matter to your national supervisory authority.

Who else has access

Google, for advertising. The audience measurement tool. Cloudflare, for hosting and protection against attacks.

Hosting is American: data therefore transits through the United States, including for European readers. That is the trade-off of a site served from a global network.

Personalised advertising

If you agree to it, the advertising shown can be chosen from your browsing. That is profiling in the sense of GDPR article 22. No decision about you is taken on that basis, and refusing closes nothing: the site stays the same.

Audience measurement: about 14 months. Correspondence: about 3 years. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
